Basterd Scouting – Season 26 Mock Draft 1st round

This has long been known as a draft that you would want to get the number one pick if you want a stud d-man like Rasmus Dahlin. And it was also well known to have a lot of top end depth on defensemen so there are several that should go early in the draft. But there will always be some bias towards forwards in the DHL drafts so I took that into account with these selections.
Besides Dahlin, the expectation is there are at least 3-4 top pairing d-men that will go in the 1st round of this draft. And there are definitely several others that will be top 4 guys with all different skillsets. Its still leaning towards what the new NHL is with high end skating guys who may be a bit on the smaller side.
On the forward side of things, there are definitely quite a few guys who could be top 6 forwards too in the early part of the draft. Its expected that Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Oliver Wahlstrom will be among the top 5 selections, if not the the 2 guys that go after Dahlin. While the Y26 draft isn’t as deep as the Y27 one for forwards, there are several names that could turn into solid prospects.
Obviously I can’t guarantee the order stays the same but I attempted to have an updated pick list as trades were made (hopefully these are all correct). Due to some time constraints I wasn’t able to do some of the normal notes/analysis but without further adieu:
