Bruins Season Review, Post Deadline Edition
- Updated: May 29, 2018
Bruins record to date: 36-22-4-2
After having a hot start to the season, the Bruins have been playing .500 hockey, or close to it, for the longest time. The Bruins made one big trade during the season, acquiring Ondrej Palat from Philadelphia. Palat has been a solid addition, bringing 18 points in 26 games, along with playing on the top line of the penalty kill.
Team MVP to date: Tuukka Rask
2 U’s, 2 K’s, 2 points. Rask has been the teams rock in net. Although he occasionally experiences ups and downs throughout the season, Rask has put together a solid season and is the biggest reason the Bruins find themselves in a playoff spot.
Why was the team so quiet at the deadline?
I was itching to make a few moves, but with so little cash I held off. Every single penny of cash I have from this moment on is going to the 2 U’s 2K’s fund. I know teams will be hunting him in free agency, and I am determined to keep Rask a Bruin.
Projection for the playoffs?
I figure I’ll make the playoffs, probably in the 3rd-5th range depending on how the rest of the season plays out. From there anything can happen. We may not have a superstar, but we have a solid top-9 full of size, skill, and solid two way players, along with a defence that should be able to hold their own.
