Superstars Swapped As Sidney Crosby Leaves Boston

A blockbuster has gone down in the DHL today, as the Boston Bruins sent long time star player Sidney Crosby to St. Louis. The full deal has Crosby headed to St. Louis along with stud defenceman Ryan McDonagh, mid level prospect Valentin Zykov, and a first round pick, while the Bruins acquired star forward Evgeni Malkin, top end puck moving defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and shut down second pairing defenceman Marco Scandella from the Blues. The trade give the Bruins some breathing room in cap space which will allow them to fill out their roster with a better supporting cast, while also maintaining a roster that can win now. Now the team looks towards free agency, where they will undoubtedly be looking to retain scoring forward Jeff Carter, along with solid defenceman Dion Phaneuf, whose rights they acquire from Washington.
