Wild Advance (Fans Miss Celebration)

In a season that no one expected, including their esteemed GM, the Wild defeated the Avs in 5 games winning four in a row after dropping game one in Colorado. The Wild relied on strong defense holding the Avs to an average 28.2 shots against and only 2.2 goals against. On the flip side the Wild exploded all over the Avs with an average 33.4 shots for per game and 4.2 goals scored.

Parise tried to do it all but couldn’t unwrap himself in time for the comeback

Leading the offense was Matt Duchene with 3 goals in 5 games while six other players notched multiple goal totals. All in all 13 different players scored a goal, another sign of a well built roster. Leading the backend Marco Scandella and Alex Pieteranglo logged 30+ mins a game and gave Avs forwards fits. Between the pipes Mzarek simply outplayed Devin Dubynk who was pulled in twice in 5 games after only getting the hook 3 times all season.

That look Pieteranglo gives you when asked ‘do you really consider yourself a number one defensman’?

So now the Wild await, resting up to see whether its the Blues or the Oilers. Either will be a tougher opponent and should be a true test of how well this team is put together.
