Dynasty Hockey League

The Wild had a tremendous 21st season with a 35 point improvement from season 20. Even though they did not win the division they did hold it for many of the 82 games. The team was lead by Matt Duchene who finished with 33 goals and 74 points and Mike Hoffman who potted 35 goals. Late season additions Jonathan Huberdeau, Tyler Johnson and Jason Pomminville all helped contribute to the Wild offense that scored a whopping 50 more goals in season 21 than they did in season 20.

Duchy was a force for the Wild since coming over from the Sharks.

While the offense seen a vast improvement, the defense also improved going from 248 goals against in season 20 to 210 goals against in season 21. An improvement of 38 less goals against was massive with goalie Petr Mzarek boasting a stingy .921 save percentage and 2.30 GAA. Alex Pieteranglo is the defacto number one dman while Morgan Rielly develops into one. Johnny Boychuk was another force for the Wild adding 168 hits to the cause. Overall the Wild win most improved by a long shot and now play their first post season game since season 18 when they were eliminated in the first round by the SJ Sharks.

What Mzarek lacks in EN and DU he makes up for in Heart and Determination

Win or lose vs. the Avs, the Wild are proud of the season they have had and feel like they are playing with ‘house money’ now since they did not expect to secure a playoff spot until the rebuild was closer to being complete next season. But some additions like the aforementioned along with Milan Lucic, Mike Ribero, Marco Scandella and Ryan Callahan have gone a long way to getting this team back to contention.

Looch was actually brought in with hopes that he would make a huge impact in the post season so now is his time to shine!
